On the Road: The RoadTwip Gang Ghetto-Rigs a Home Theatre System

We are very proud of ourselves.

The power adapter plugs into the cigarette lighter. The speakers plug into the USB port on the power adapter. The MP3 player plugs into the audio jack on the speakers. The power strip plugs into the power adapter. The laptops, phones, cameras, battery chargers, and other devices plug into the power adapter OR the power strip. The phones plug into the laptops and provide wireless Internet access. We can now work online, watch movies, or organize an impromptu karaoke party (”Don’t Stop! Belieeevin!” was the battle cry heard all along I-40 last night) from a moving car. And all for about sixty bucks.

All we need now is a way to strap the speakers to the sides of the front seat headrests: This is what we call “ghetto-rigged surround sound.”
